Veteran actress of popular romantic cinema..Aasha Parekh's 76th birthday just happened!

Aasha Parekh & Shammi Kapoor in 'Dil Deke Dekho' (1959).

Known as Jubilee girl..beautiful Aasha Parekh appeared on screen as child artist in 'Aasmaan' (1952). And then producer S. Mukherjee and writer-director Nasir Hussain made her heroine in film 'Dil Deke Dekho' (1959) with Shammi Kapoor!

After this successful film she became the inseparable part of Nasir Hussain's films and they gave hit romantic musicals like 'Jab Pyar Kisi se Hota Hai' (1963), 'Teesri Manzil' (1966), 'Pyar ka Mausam' (1969) & 'Caravan' (1971). All were my favourites in college days!


Apart from 'NH Films' she also played nice roles in other movies like 'Mere Sanam' (1965), 'Love in Tokyo' (1966), 'Aaya Sawan Jhoom ke' (1969) & 'Aan Milo Sajana' (1970). She also acted in her own Gujarati language films like hit 'Akhand Saubhagyavati' (1963).

Aasha Parekh's notable character was in Shakti Samanta's film 'Kati Patang' (1970) which was based on a novel by Gulshan Nanda! She won 'Best Actress Filmfare' for this!

With other awards she was honoured with the 'Padma Shri'!
