- Manoj Kulkarni

Today is 4th Death Anniversary of Renowned Cinematographer of our India..V. K. Murthy!

Gurudutt taking great shot with his cinematographer V. K. Murthy!
He was most famous for his excellent cinematic work for our legendary Indian filmmaker Guru Dutt!

Murthy cinematographed almost all 'Gurudutt Films' includes tragic trilogy 'Pyaasa' (1957), 'Kagaz Ke Phool' (1959) & 'Sahab Bibi Aur Gulam' (1962).
"Wagt ne kiya kya hasin sitam.." Murthy greatly cinematographd on
Gurudutt & Wahida Rahman in  'Kagaz Ke Phool' (1959).

V. K. Murthy was the first Cinematographer to be chosen for the prestigious 'Dadasaheb Phalake Award'!

His notable images..like in songs "Wagt ne kiya kya hasin sitam.." (Kagaz Ke Phool) & "Yeh Duniyaa Agar Mil Bhi Jaaye.." (Pyaasa) still lingering in mind!
"Yeh Duniyaa Agar Mil Bhi Jaaye.." great frame of Gurudutt
in my favourite 'Pyaasa' (1957) cinematographed by Murthy!

Remembering meeting this genius in 'FTII'!

Humble homage to Murthysahab!!
