Kishori Amonkar singing Hindustani classical music!

One year over..legendary devoted vocalist of Indian classical music..Kishori Amonkar left this world! She was belongs to Jaipur Gharana but developed her own style of singing!
"Geet Gaya Patharo Ne.." Kishori Amonkar sung for Rajashree in film! 

Kishori Amonkar got the initial guidance in singing Hindustani classical music from her mother Mogubai Kurdikar of Jaipur Gharana. And she also received lessons from Anwar Hussain Khan of Agra Gharana! 

Then she did experiments with various styles of singing and developed her own genre of classical singing which mostly includes Khyal & Thumari!

'Drishti' which picturised on Dimple Kapadia!
She first time sung for film in 1964 and that was title song of V. Shantaram's classic movie 'Geet Gaya Patharo Ne'..which picturised on Rajashree! Then after a big gap in 1990 she composed the music of Govind Nihlani's art film 'Drishti' and sung all songs which mostly picturised on Dimple Kapadia! But she returned to classical music after that!

Kishori Amonkar received several national awards with international recognition! In 1985 she was awarded the 'Sangeet Natak Akademi Award'.. And in 1987 she was honoured with 'Padma Bhushan' and in 2002 with 'Padma Vibhushan' by our Government of India!
