Legendary personality in broadcast media..Ameen Sayani has completed more than 75 years of his Radio Programming!..It's Great!!

On this occasion I remembered childhood days..and favourite radio programme 'Binaca Geetmala' & the famous voice of Ameen Sayani "Behno aur bhaiyo...is baar paheli badaan par hai yeh gaana.." That time it was the only countdown show of top film songs on 'Radio Ceylon'...when there was no TV!

Ameen Sayani started participating on 'All Indian Radio', Bombay at very little age. Then achieved popularity all across South Asia when he presented 'Binaca Geetmala' programme on 'Radio Ceylon'!

After that he had - produced & compered over 54,000 radio - programmes. He also appeared in few films like..'Bhoot Bungla', 'Teen Deviyan' (1965) & 'Aan Baan' (1972).

He has received many awards and in 2009 he was conferred the 'Padmashri' samman!

Still remember nice meeting him fifteen years ago!
