Today's fourth picture is again about Mughal emperor but it's immortal love story of Shah Jahan who built Taj Mahal in fond memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Before this there was a silent film 'Shiraz' (1928) on construction of Taj Mahal. Franz Osten directed this film for the producer Himansu Rai.. who himself portrayed the title role!


And in 1963 famous talkie 'Taj Mahal' produced by A. K. Nadiadwala and directed by M. S. Sadiq. Poet Qamar Jalalabadi wrote the screenplay of it and Tabish Sultanpuri written the dialogues.

Known for costume dramas..Pradeep Kumar portrayed the great character of Shah Jahan in this film and beautiful Bina Rai appeared as Mumtaz Mahal. Other artists were Rehman, Veena & Jeevan.

This hit film mostly rememberd for its lovely songs wrote by..great Sahir - Ludhianvi and Roshan composed music. Mohammed Rafi and Lata - Mangeshkar sung these romantic songs in which includes "Paaon chhoo lene do phulon ko.." and immortal "Jo wada kiya wo nibhana padega.."
