VICTORY DAY AND 'CRANES ARE FLYING'!

Great Tatiana Samoilova & Aleksey Batalov on poster of film 'The Cranes Are Flying' (1957).

World marked the 75th anniversary of allied victory over Nazi Germany
in World War II. In Russia and former Soviet Union republics every year celebrate this 9th May as 'Victory Day'!..On this occasion, I remembered my favourite Soviet film with this backdrop..'The Cranes Are Flying' (1957) and legendary actress Tatiana Samoilova's great role in it!

Georgian-Soviet filmmaker Mikhail Kalatozov
director of film 'The Cranes Are Flying'(1957)
'Mosfilm' produced 'The Cranes Are Flying' was based on the play by..Victor Rozov who also wrote the screenplay of it! Renowned Georgian-born Soviet filmmaker Mikhail Kalatozov directed this film..which was - cinematographed by Sergy Urusevsky and edited by Mariva Timofeveva! All well filmed visuals get you involved in it!..Polish-born Soviet music director Moisev Vaynberg also contributed through appropriate tunes!

With great Tatiana Samoilova, artists acted with her in this film were Aleksey Batalov, Aleksandr Shvorin, Svetlana Kharitolova & stage actor Vasili Merkurvev! Their natural performances made this film immortal!

'People's Artist of Russia' Tatiana Samoilova in 'The Cranes Are Flying' (1957).
'The Cranes Are Flying' achieved international - recognition and became the only Soviet film to win 'Palme d'Or' at - 'Cannes Film - Festival'! Tatiana also got special award in it!

I still remember climax of this film and touching - performance of.. Tatiana Samoilova!
Salute to victory and this great film!!
