Dilip Kumar produced & wrote (he acted) milestone movie 'Ganga Jamuna' (1961)...in which superstar Amitabh Bachchan observed 'angry young man image' for him! Wahida Rahaman, Dilip Kumar & Manoj Kumar in 'Aadmi' (1968).

Then he wrote political drama film 'Leader' (1964) and co-directed romantic film..
'Dil Diya Dard Liya' (1966). After that he directed intense drama 'Aadmi' (1968) for which he did not take credit!

Apart from above movies, he gave guidance to his some other films' directors & co-artist in improvisation of scenes!..which some thinks interference! Latter in 1992 producer Sudhakar Bokade asked him to direct - 'Kalinga'!

'GULLY BOY' AND '8 MILE'..SAME?!

Bollywood movie 'Gully Boy' won Best awards in this '65th Filmfare'..and again remembered it's similarity with 17 years old Hollywood film '8 Mile'! In this context, note that 'Gully Boy' was out from 'Oscar's race!

'Gully Boy' (according to it's filmmakers) may inspired by lives of rappers in Mumbai; but we can not ignore it's similarity with '6 Mile' in plots and visuals! Protagonists of both the films are with odd family backgrounds from slum areas. And they pursue their dream of becoming rapper in contrast situations! Things like supportive friends, love triangles & rap battles also there in both the films.
Scenes from Hollywood film '8 Mile' & Bollywood movie 'Gully Boy'!

In Curtis Hanson's movie '8 Mile' (2002) American rapper Eminem played the main role and won 'Oscar's 'Best Original Song' award for his..
"Lose Yourself.." In film artists Mekhi Phifer & Brittany Murphy accompanied him!

In Farhan & Zoya Akhtar's well made movie 'Gully Boy' (2019) Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt also acted superbly! But it's "Apna time aayega.." is still away from international recognition!

Any way, I admire Akhtar brother-sister filmmakers & these artists.

Congratulations!!

'PARASITE' AND 'MINSARA KANNA'!

South Korean film 'Parasite' (2019) & Tamil film 'Minsara Kanna' (1999)

South Korean film 'Parasite' won this '92nd Oscar's four awards including 'Best Picture'!

But now here, in South Indian film industry..Tamil cine-goers finds some similarity between 'Parasite' & their 20 years old movie 'Minsara Kanna'! Came to know that, specifically fans of actor Vijay (who is hero of that film) are claiming this!

Tamil movie 'Minsara Kanna' (1999) is about wealthy young man who presents himself as poor and gets job in rich family to win his lady love. In this he manages to get his other family members to be employed with that rich family. M. A. Kennedy wrote and K. S. Ravikumar directed this.

And, South Korean Bong Joon-Ho directed film 'Parasite' (2019) tells the story of poor family (with need of jobs). In this, after a young boy of this family, other members of it also slowly enters into the lives of a wealthy family!

But, commercial film 'Minsara Kanna' was with slightly different romantic plot! Whereas, with different genre 'Parasite' explores the living of poor & rich in complex situations!

So what can we say in it?
