Five years are over..Music composer Omi of Sonik-Omi..left this world!

Om Prakash Sonik.. known as Omi was a nephew of the blind music director Master Sonik. They together formed the music duo Sonik-Omi! Their first successful film was C. L. Rawal's..

'Dil Ne Phir Yad Kiya' (1966). The title song of it was intense!

 

Then Sonik-Omi's memorable composition came with film 'Mahua' (1969). 

Mohammed Rafi sung the love song of it superbly..

"Dono ne kiya tha pyar magar..

mujhe yaad raha tu bhul gayi..!"

After that actress Rekha's debut film 'Sawan Bhadon's (1970) their songs..

like "Sun sun sun O gulabi kali.." became hit! Then the qawwali of 'Dharma' (1973).. "Raz ki baat keh du.." and other films songs were also popular. 

 

Sonik-Omi composed the music of nearly 125 films up to 1980s!
