ROMANCING WITH TRAIN!
Vaclav Neckar & Jitka Bendova in romantic scene of Jiri Menzel's film 'Closely watched trains' (1966). |
Cinema travelled a lot..actually with train..
Like shown in one of the Lumiere's pioneering films 'Arrival of train at la ciotat' (1896), first feature film Edwin S. Porter's 'The great train robbery' (1903) origin of Hollywood 'Western' genre and Bollywood's 'The burning train' to many song sequences!
Though it had II world war - backdrop, but Menzel handled film romantically and himself played notable role!
You can observe his satiric approach in scenes like..
Lovers trying to kiss while train moving & stamping on girl's body!
That 'Czechoslovak New Wave' product won foreign language film's Oscar!
In real life also Jiri Menzel was same..which I 'observed closely'!!
