Here is a focus on fifty years old association of Mani Kaul a New Wave Filmmaker and Mohan Rakesh a pioneer of 'Nai Kahani'..through two landmark films!

One of the leading film makers in our Parallel - Cinema movement..Mani Kaul made his first film 'Uski Roti' (1969) on the short story by..Mohan - Rakesh a pioneer of 'Nai Kahani' (new story) - movement of Hindi literature! It was a focus on.. village life and contradiction in family life!

Then Mani Kaul handled different genre in his second film 'Ashadh ka ek Din' (1971) which was again based on Mohan Rakesh's play! That was a love triangle referred to Sanskrit poet Kalidas, Mallika & Priangumanjari!
