When saw colour photograph of Raj Kapoor and Nargis starrer romantic movie 'Chori Chori' (1956)..I remembered it's original Frank Capra's pre-code American romantic film 'It Happened One Night' (1934).

Even much latter Mahesh Bhatt made 'Dil hai ke manata nahin' (1995) was frame to frame copy of that original.. Hollywood classic! Plots of these films are same. Pampered girl tries to get out from her father's restrictions and falls in love with a reporter who is looking for a 'brecking news' in today's language!

Pioneering of formula "Boy meets Girl" film 'It Happened One Night' (1934) was based on a story 'Night Bus' written by Samuel Hopkins Adams who also wrote the screenplay of it! Handsome Clark Gable and beautiful Claudette Colbert played these roles nicely in this film. This remarkable film won all main 5 awards of 'Oscar' which includes best film, director & lead artists!

L. C. Lachman had produced and Anant Thakur directed film 'Chori Chori' is mostly remembered for.. Nargis's superb - performance and its romantic songs like.. "Panchi banu udati firu.." & "Aaja sanam madhur chandani mein hum.." For this film music directors Shankar-Jaikishan won 'Filmfare' award! Whereas Bollywood hit 'Dil hai ke manata nahin' boosted the career of Pooja Bhatt with leading Amir Khan!
