Today is Death Anniversary of one of the greatest Actress of Indian Cinema.. Nargis Dutt!

Born Fatima Rashid..she appeared on screen as child artist in 'Talash-E-Haq' (1935) and at the age of 14 she became actress..Nargis in Mehboob Khan's film 'Taqdeer' (1943).

After that she got commercial success by the films she did alongside Raj Kapoor with whom her pair was hit! Their films like 'Barsat' (1949), 'Andaz' (1949), 'Awara' (1951) & 'Chori Chori' (1956) are unforgettable! 

Nargis's great performance in Mehboob Khan's film 'Mother India' (1957).

She also did intense roles with actor Dilip Kumar in films like 'Mela' (1948), 'Jogan' (1950) & 'Deedar' (1951). She also acted in K. A. Abbas's Indo-Russian film 'Pardesi' (1957).

Nargis's immortal role was the character Radha which she portrayed in Mehboob Khan's milestone movie 'Mother India' (1957)..which was nominated for 'Oscar'!..After this she married to actor Sunil Dutt!

She was the first recipient of National Film Award for Best Actress in 1968..which she won for film 'Rat Aur Din'!
