'APU TRILOGY'S TWO MASTERS!
Great filmmaker Satyajit Ray with Sitar Maestro Pt.Ravi Shankar! |
And this is Birth Centenary of our great filmmaker Satyajit Ray!
On this occasion, I remembered Pt. Ravi Shankar's great association with Satyajit Ray for his renowned films (Bengali) 'Apu Trilogy'!
I still remember some music pieces of Ravi Shankarji in this trilogy..
From 'Pather Panchali' (1955)..
Tune of hope..When Sarbajaya reads optimist letter of Harihar..then visual of lotus in lake!
Tune of compassion..When old pishi dies.!
Tune of future..When little Durga & Apu runs towards train from farm!
Karuna Banerjee (Sarbajaya), Pinaki Sengupta (Apu) & Kanu Banerjee (Harihar) in 'Aparajito'. |
From 'Aparajito' (1956)..
Tune of big sorrow..When Harihar dies and birds flies from river!
Tune of hope..When grown up Apu returns from town!
Tune for bright life..Showing romanticism of young married Apu & Aparna!
Such scenes and sitar pieces are unforgettable!!
A Tribute!!
