What a great coincidence this is 'International Jazz Day' and first World Talkie 'The Jazz Singer' (1927) is completing 90 years!

'Warner Bros.' produced 'The Jazz Singer' was a first feature-length motion picture with not only a synchronised recorded music score, but also lip-synchronous singing and speech! For this Vitaphone sound-on-disc system was used!


Film which ends the silent era..
'The Jazz Singer' was based on play of same name by Samson Raphaelson! 
It tells the story of a young man's struggle to become a Jazz Singer! Alfred A. Cohn wrote the screenplay of it and Alan Crosland directed this film which cinematographed by Hal Mohr and edited by Harold McCord..And Louise Silvers composed the music in which 6 songs sung by Al Jolson who played the lead role with beautiful actress May McAvoy and Yossele Rosenblat!
